CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Clarksville’s Young Professionals (CYP) were visited Wednesday, March 2 by Austin Peay State University’s new Head Football Coach, Will Healy. Healy was joined by members of his Governors coaching staff.

Healy talked about the Governors football program. “I think it’s about being exciting. We’re going to do whatever it takes to win football games as quickly and as humanly possible. Recruiting is how we’re going to get this thing turned around quickly,” said Healy.

When it came to recruiting for the football team Healy highlighted the importance of recruiting for him and his coaches. Healy said Clarksville is a great city to recruit to and he also praised the outstanding facilities at APSU, particularly Governors Stadium.

Healy talked about being a young head coach and how he presented himself to get the APSU coaching job. He told the young people at the meeting they may have to show more energy, enthusiasm, put forth more effort, and work a little harder which is what’s insinuated by being a young professional.
