CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The head baseball coach at Fort Campbell High School has been charged with selling methamphetamine.
According to an arrest warrant, police stopped 41-year-old Lance Martin Loeffler June 9 while he was driving on Greenwood Avenue. The officer said Loeffler was not wearing a seatbelt and he had observed his vehicle at a residence known for drug trafficking. The vehicle’s passenger, Samantha Clark, was seen going into a residence on Central Avenue and returning to the vehicle.
During the traffic stop, Clark told the officer there was drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. The officer conducted a search and found apple bags, a baggie full of brown powder, two baggies containing a crystal substance, a straw, a spoon, a digital scale, and a black bag containing six pistols.
A .223 rifle was also found in the backseat.
The crystal substance tested positive for methamphetamine and the brown powder tested positive for heroin.
Police said that during an interview Loeffler admitted that someone gave him the heroin and reportedly said he was selling the crystal meth “to make some extra cash.”
Loeffler was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine for resale and possession of a firearm during a felony. His bond was set at $61,000.
Fort Campbell Public Affairs confirmed to ClarksvilleNow.com that Loeffler is a substitute teacher and baseball coach at Fort Campbell High School. No further comments were made regarding his arrest or the future of his employment.
