CLARKSVILLE, Tenn (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Clarksville-Montgomery County School System recognized the achievements of several students and teachers as Points of Pride at their formal meeting on Tuesday, August 13.

Rebecca Brockman Perantoni, a German teacher at West Creek High will travel to Leipzig, Germany as part of a professional development program through the American Association of Teachers of German. She is one of only 20 teachers nationwide chosen for this opportunity.

Kenwood High School received a MakerMinded School of Distinction Award for the 2018-2019 school year, one of only two schools to do so. The award includes a prize of $2,000. Kenwood High faculty Keith Parker, Kelsey Mcconachie, Abraham Wolfe and Christopher Wilson were responsible for the school’s submission.

CMCSS Junior Civitans attended the International Convention in Washington D.C. in June, where they received multiple awards and accolades.

Clarksville High School adviser Karen Sullivan and Montgomery Central Middle School adviser Margaret Thompson were recognized as Honor Clubs of Distinction, the highest honor a club can achieve. MCMS was also awarded third place in both Campus Project of the Year and Club of the Year.

The Valley district (comprised of 17 schools, more than half of which are in CMCSS) was awarded first place for their District Project of the Year and second place for District of the Year. The Valley was also named Honor District of Distinction, the second highest honor available. CMCSS schools with clubs include MCMS, MCHS, WCMS, RiMS, CHS, RoHS, NEMS and NEHS.

Clarksville High School Student Taylor Albertia received the “Distinguished Governor of Excellence” award for top fundraiser, which was a Dance-A-Thon.
