CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Clarksville-Montgomery County School System (CMCSS) has been determined in the overall composite of literacy and numeracy to be the leading district in the state in student academic growth in grades 3-12 for assessments given in the spring of 2015.
“Using the performance levels 1-5 and the growth index, those are the two indicators by which districts are evaluated. Each district receives a growth composite – the level of growth scored at 1-5 and a growth index, which is an indication of the growth experienced,” said Kimi Sucharski, district data analyst for accountability. “This provides the district with how it is performing, compared with other districts.”
The data is available on the public Tennessee Value Added Assessment System (TVAAS) website.
“We can attribute this accomplishment to our teachers and administrators recognizing where every student is academically and ensuring that they make appropriate grade level growth throughout the year. Parental support is key to making sure students are successful and this community is so supportive of this school system. They demonstrate that in so many ways: volunteer hours and donation of resources,” said Dr. B.J. Worthington, director of schools.
