CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Education Association (CMCEA), hosted its Annual Back to School Bash to kick off the new school year for Clarksville-Montgomery County Schools.

Close to 350 local educators, along with school system employees, and students came together at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center Saturday, August 14. CMCEA President, Constance Brown talked about the event.

“We are having our Back to School Bash which we typically do annually, and we are celebrating our diamond plus-one anniversary for serving public education in Montgomery County going into now our 61st year,” Brown said. Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts stopped by the Back to School Bash to present a proclamation to CMCEA praising their service to education and the community.

 

The Back to School Bash featured giveaways throughout the day of school supplies for CMCSS employees and CMCEA members as well as music, food, and games.

Attendees voted for the elementary school of their choice to win the SchoolSupply Tower at the event with the school supplies going to Burt Elementary School. Top prizes also went to Kendahl Coode who won a Golden Eagle Gift Certificate and Karen Stasiorowski who won a diamond bracelet.

The Clarksville-Montgomery County Education Association has more than 1,250 members and Brown said they are one of the strongest local education organizations in Tennessee.
