CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The American Cornhole Tournament in Clarksville kicked off on Friday afternoon as part of a two-day event at the Austin Peay State University Dunn Center, located at 320 Drane Street. During the first day, close to 400 participants showed up to compete.

This is the 20th season of the American Cornhole Organization holding a Clarksville major, and ACO President and CEO Frank Geers says their event in Montgomery County is part of 41 tour stops across the United States, with some events even being held in the United Kingdom.

“We do these across the country, this is a points earning tournament as we are chasing the opportunity to compete at the world championships, which takes place in Tulsa, OK this year,” Geers told Clarksville Now. “That’s what all of these players are doing. … There are pros here from around the country. We probably have 20 different states represented this weekend and the competition level is extremely high.”

The two-day event will continue throughout the day today, and into the night with things expected to wrap up at around 11 p.m., according to event details online.
