Veterans Day Parade
The Clarksville-Montgomery County Veterans Day Parade will take place on Saturday, Nov. 10, with pre-parade ceremonies set for 9 a.m. in front of the historic courthouse (south side) on Third Street in downtown Clarksville. The parade will begin at 10 a.m. at the corner of N. Eighth and College Streets, next to the Sundquist Science Building at Austin Peay State University, with the reviewing stand at the Third Street side of the courthouse.
Keynote speaker for the event is Dr. David A. Wesner, pastor of Faith Outreach Church North and Adjunct Professor at Austin Peay State University and a Vietnam veteran. This year’s Veterans Day parade theme is “Veterans Serving After Service.”
Handmade Holidays
The seventh annual Handmade Holidays will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10 and from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11 at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center at Liberty Park, 1188 Cumberland Drive. Admission is free.
Shoppers can expect to find seasonal décor, ceramics, woodworking, metalwork, apparel, jewelry, soaps, toys, fabric crafts, candies, edibles, children’s accessories and more.

Thanksgiving will not become a national holiday until 1863, but the fall harvest was celebrated by rural people long before. Come to the Homeplace all week to experience the hustle and bustle in the kitchen as we prepare for our own thanksgiving meal to celebrate a successful harvest. Each day the ladies will prepare a special dish all leading up to the big harvest dinner on Saturday.

1-3pm | 1850’s Hunting and Trapping
Hunting and trapping were not hobbies in 1850s. Furs and the meat from wild animals could be sold for income. Extra meat meant having more than just veggies for dinner. See homemade traps and period rifles and learn how they were used to hunt game. Discover what was in the woodsman’s 1850s tool box that he used to harvest from the bountiful nature that surrounded him.
