CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) The American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk is coming up in Nashville October 21 and the Rainbow Warriors from Clarksville will be there supporting the fight against breast cancer.

This will be the third year the Rainbow Warriors from Rainbow Inc. Service for Ceramic will don their pink attire and make the trip for the fundraiser. This year around 20 individuals are expected to be a part of the team and that number could grow as more Rainbow workers and Rainbow’s community members outside the company join the team.

Tamara Persinger, Human Resources Manager and Safety Director for Rainbow, said that a number of employees at the company have suffered a loss to breast cancer either in their family or through close friendships. There are also two breast cancer survivors who work at Rainbow Inc.

Not only is the team part of the walk but they do many fundraisers throughout the year to donate to the American Cancer Society. Persinger said through events like silent auctions and yard sales they have been able to raise around $3,000 each year, most of it from Rainbow employees.

Persinger said the team is still looking for support for the walk and the fight against breast cancer. For more information visit the Rainbow Warriors Facebook page, email t.persinger@rainbowsvc.com or call her at 931-552-7783, extension 301.
