CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW)- As part of an ongoing effort to build relationships with the many diverse communities that make up the city of Clarksville, First Lady of Clarksville Cynthia Pitts recently met with the women of India in our community.

These Women of Clarksville meetings allow women from diverse cultural communities to have an open dialogue with Cynthia Pitts, the wife of Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts, about issues affecting them.

The April 12 meeting was hosted by Dipa Patel.

“Our vision is to celebrate the diversity of our community by bringing together the people of our city. Much like the tapestry of fabric, singular in their beauty, making each of our outfits stunning, we are more beautiful when standing together,” Mrs. Pitts said.

She said the group talked about their hopes and desires to work together in serving the Clarksville community.

“I have a heart and a passion just to connect and build relationships with the different communities within our city, for them to feel a part of the city and to get involved,” Mrs. Pitts said.

Other Women in Clarksville meetings have included the Korean-American Association and the Clarksville Hispanic American Family Foundation.
