WASHINGTON – (CLARKSVILLENOW) As newly empowered House Democrats pass a government funding plan without a border wall, a ClarksvilleNow reader poll shows attitudes changing on the issue.
Before the shutdown, which began December 22, a ClarksvilleNow.com reader poll showed a majority of respondents in favor of a shutdown over funding of the wall.
Two weeks later, this tide has turned with more than half of those polled saying they now oppose the shutdown based on a single issue.
President Donald Trump says he will not approve any bill that does not include $5 billion for wall construction.
