Clarksville, Tenn. – The Clarksville Civitan Club welcomed members of Clarksvillenow.com and 5-Star Radio to their weekly meeting on Wednesday, February 25. Guests Rob Selkow, Nicole June, Lee Erwin and Payton Baggett spoke to the group and presented information about the news website and the radio stations.

Civitan is an organization that encourages its members to be optimistic, to believe in themselves and to respect others. Civitan also inspires and challenges all of its members to care for each individual and help create a safe and supportive community.

The club also supports the community in a number of events and activities like the annual Civitan Fish Fry which will be Saturday, March 28 from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. at Hilldale United Methodist Church. The cost is $9 for all you can eat including catfish, beans, slaw, fries, hushpuppies and tea or lemonade.

Desserts will be sold by Citizens Police Academy Alumni to benefit the Clarksville Police Department. Proceeds from the fish fry will go to Boy Scout Troop 514, Girl Scout Troop 460 as well as Richview and Rossview Jr. Civitan, and Jr. Civitan International.
