CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) -Zombie hunting season has begun: Clarksville Zombie Hunters runs September 22 through November 3 and local nonprofit groups have the opportunity to be part of the fun and excitement.
Eric Yow with Clarksville Zombie Hunters said the business increases its success each year in order to be better equipped to give back to the community. This year, Clarksville Zombie Hunters will feature eight different attractions.
“In year one we decided we were going to partner with local charitable organizations so that we could bring them in to act as our zombies and we’re effectively raising money for those groups,” Yow said.
In the last four years, more than $50,000 has been given back to the various organizations.
Groups that will benefit this year include: Northeast Eagles Softball, Clarksville Academy Wrestling, APSU Pre-Vet Club, Houston County Xplosion Softball, W.O.M.B. Ministries, Christian County High School JROTC and Charlie Company FRG.
Yow said the company looks to partner with groups who can provide 20 or more volunteers in exchange for a sizable donation to the nonprofit. There are some partnerships spots remaining for this season.
Some volunteers will put on protective gear and act like zombies, while other duties might include filling paint tubes for the hay ride, directing traffic, working at a ticket booth or picking up trash. Some individuals are also hired to help with the event.
Those who wish to apply can visit www.clarksvillezombiehunters.com or message Clarksville Zombie Hunters on Facebook. Organizations who can’t help this year can book a spot for next year.
