CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A Clarksville resident celebrated her 101st birthday this week.
Ms. Edith Bell-Poindexter turned 101 on Jan. 28, 2018. She was born and raised in Charlottesville, TN and had 20 siblings.
Poindexter had four children of her own and proudly displays photos of her family in her room at Ahava Healthcare, where she currently resides.
She attributes her longevity to kindness and letting go of stress. Her favorite foods are pork chops, barbecue, and turnip greens. She loves working outside in a garden and misses the farm life.
Poindexter worked as a housekeeper for the hospital for many years and at one time she worked for the facility that she now calls home.
“She is beautiful inside and out and we are so honored that she is sharing her wisdom and experience with us,” a representative for the facility said.
