CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A Clarksville woman has been arrested for reckless endangerment after allegedly causing children to fall off the back of her vehicle.

According to an arrest warrant, 28-year-old Kelly Rivera was visiting a friend at her home on April 2. The friend was not home at the time, but her children were outside playing.

Rivera was preparing to leave, but the children were hanging on the front of the car. Rivera said after asking them multiple times to move, the children got off the car and she left.

Rivera continued down Roan Dr. and as she began to turn onto Ranch Hill Dr., she noticed the children on the back of her car. She said she asked them to get off the vehicle but they would not listen.

Rivera told police that she then hit her brakes and the children fell off the vehicle.

One of the children was injured and was taken by family members to Tennova Medical Center, where emergency room staff called police about the incident.

Police contacted Rivera by phone because she was not present at the hospital.

She admitted to police that she was driving on a suspended license at the time.

Rivera was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment and driving on a suspended license. Her bond was set at $2,500.
