CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Montgomery County is under a significant weather advisory until 1:15 p.m.

The National Weather Service released the following alert on Wednesday:

“At 12:27 p.m., Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Oak Grove, moving south at 5 mph.wea

“Pea size hail and winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with this storm.

“Locations impacted include Clarksville and Woodlawn.

“This includes Interstate 24 between mile markers 1 and 15.

“Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

“Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.”

There were power outages at Fort Campbell at about 12:40 p.m.
