CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Seth Mayer, a Clarksville man and Army veteran, will soon take a 1,000 mile journey for a friend in need.
He has pledged to walk this distance as part of his project, A Thousand Miles for A Friend. This walk will be called A Thousand Miles for Daniel.

11-year-old Daniel Burgess was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma, a type of brain and spine cancer, on August 9, 2015.
Mayer hopes that through donations, Daniel’s family can cover the cost of medical and travel expenses incurred by his illness, as well as home improvements to facilitate Daniel’s medical needs.
The family said Daniel’s father, Steve, has also been out of work to care for Daniel, putting additional strain on their finances.
When Mayer heard about the Burgess family he decided to step in and help.
“I have experienced a transformation in my life and I want to continue to pay it forward in a way that can inspire others to do the same,” Mayer said.
This is his second 1,000 mile walk.

The walk will begin Saturday, Nov. 21 at 7:30 at the Lowes Drive Kroger location. Mayer will walk through Tennessee, Georgia, and Florida, ending his journey in Miami.
