CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – On the morning of Dec. 9, 2023, a tornado ripped across north Clarksville, killing three people and leaving dozens injured.
There were so many injuries, and so much road infrastructure was blocked, that there weren’t enough ambulances to reach everyone, according to Clarksville Police Lt. Ben Blackmon. But that’s when residents with trucks and Fort Campbell medics showed up and made a difference. Watch as Blackmon and CPD Deputy Chief Ty Burdine describe what they saw that morning.
