CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Clarksville sent a team to the USTA Tennessee State Tournament for Women’s 40-and-over 7.5 Combo Championships for the first time ever.

According to the press release, it was a successful three-day weekend event of tennis with multiple matches. Many of the teams traveled from across the state, ranging from Memphis to Chattanooga.

Matches between teams comprised of three sets of doubles with partners who have two different tennis ratings to combine for a total of 7.5 ratings or less.

Clarksville’s team put out their best effort. Though Memphis took home the top prize, the team said that the greatest prize was creating life-long memories and great friendships. The team says they look forward to next year.

The Clarksville Tennis Association has leagues for everyone, including ladies and gentlemen ranging from ages 15 to 70. Their goal is to keep people safe and promote a healthier community.
