ATHENS, Greece (ESPN CLARKSVILLE) – A Clarksville teen recently earned several medals during the World Kickboxing and Karate Union in Athens, Greece.
Kira Jones, 13, represented Team USA during the international karate tournament and won two silver medals and five bronze medals. Kira competed in seven competitive divisions: Point Sparring, Kumite, Junior Girls Team Fighting, Traditional Forms, Traditional Weapons, Hard Style Forms, and Weapons No Music.
This was Kira’s second year competing. She participated in the tournament last year in Ireland. She will also join the team next year in Bregen, Austria.
Kira is a straight A student at Rossview Middle School and a Teen Black Belt at Harris Holt Martial Arts Academy. She also trains in Judo combative arts.
