CHRISTIAN COUNTY, Ky. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A Clarksville suspect led a Christian County deputy on a high-speed pursuit Wednesday night on the Pennyrile Parkway and Interstate 24.

The deputy ended the chase by hitting the suspect’s vehicle.

According to the Christian County Sheriff’s Office, the deputy saw Montez Tyshon Johnson, 31, of Clarksville, Tenn. speeding around the mile marker 5 on the Pennyrile Parkway.

The deputy tried to stop the suspect and said Johnson pulled over to the side of the road, but then went back onto the Parkway and sped off.

The deputy chased Johnson to the 80 mile marker on I-24 westbound where the deputy said Johnson tried to make a u-turn and was stopped by cable barriers in the median.

To prevent the suspect from driving into oncoming traffic, the deputy said he struck the suspect’s vehicle with his cruise.

Johnson was taken into custody on charges including wanton endangerment, fleeing police, speeding and reckless driving and was transported to the Christian County jail. No bond was set.
