CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (ESPN CLARKSVILLE) – The Clarksville National Girls softball team, who is representing the state of Tennessee in Warner Robbins, Georgia, kept the streak alive Thursday in the regional tournament.

The “Red Hotz” defeated Virginia-Bridgewater 2-1 in their first game of the tournament. The game was tied 1-1 through three innings, but Clarksville National capitalized on an error by Virginia in the bottom of the fourth.

Emberly Nichols was on the mound for the ladies in red, striking out 9. Nichols also added two hits on the day, followed by Abby Chappell, Megan Blackwell, Cameron Coon, and Mackaela Stuard who each added one hit each.

The Red Hotz take on North Carolina Friday at 11 a.m.
