CLARKSVILLE, TN – Blood Assurance announced the winner of their March “Donor Madness” contest, Clarksville resident Stephanie Gentry. Gentry received a 55-inch Samsung TV along with a soundbar. It’s their way of saying “thank you” for donating between March 18 and the 31.
Gentry picked up her prize on Friday, April 12, at 9:30 a.m. from the Blood Assurance Clarksville location. The address is 1767 Wilma Rudolph Blvd., Suite E.
Those who donate between now and April 14 will be entered to win a $500 donation to a nonprofit of your choice. Donors who give April 15-30 will receive a navy Blood Assurance umbrella.
Blood donations are essential to keeping our communities healthy. Someone needs blood in the United States every two seconds. Donations go to help trauma patients, cancer patients, and sickle cell patients, just to name a few. One donation can help save up to three lives.
To be eligible to donate blood, donors must be at least 17 years old (16 years old with parental consent), weigh 110 pounds or more and be in good health. Donors are asked to drink plenty of fluids — avoiding caffeine — and eat a meal that is rich in iron prior to donating.
