CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW)- The Clarksville Police Department celebrated new beginnings and progress this week as they welcomed 12 new cadets and promoted three current employees to sergeant.
Mayor Joe Pitts administered the oath of office to twelve new Clarksville Police Department cadets at the City’s Council Chambers on Monday, December 2, 2019.
The room was filled with family, friends, and well-wishers.
The new officers will be trained in-house at the Police Department until they begin the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy on January 5, 2020 and graduate March 27, 2020.
The Clarksville Police Department has an extremely competitive hiring process to become a Clarksville Police Officer and each new cadet should be congratulated and proud of their achievement.
CPD also promoted three officers to Sergeant in a ceremony officiated by Chief Ansley.
Each of the officers promoted has a diverse background and wide range of experience within the department.
The officers promoted to Sergeant were:
Field Training Officer Adam Post. He has eight years of service with the department and has an effective promotion date of Nov 16, 2019.
Field Training Officer Brandan Hendricks has six years of service with the department and a promotion date of Nov 16, 2019.
Agent Lon Chaney has 17 years with the department and a promotion date of Dec 1, 2019.
All three are being assigned to the patrol division as District Shift Sergeants.
The Police Department’s promotion process is highly competitive and each of those selected should be proud of their accomplishment.
