The first of four crashes occurred on Tylertown Rd. when the driver, Sung Lee, attempted to make a left turn at a high rate of speed, left the roadway and crashed into a light pole. Police said he had been drinking in a bar prior to the crash at around 1:30 a.m. on Dec 15. There were two passengers in the vehicle with him, but neither was injured.

In the second DUI, which occurred Dec. 16 around 1:33 a.m., an officer saw a vehicle driven by James Bard traveling north in the southbound lane of Ft Campbell Blvd. The officer saw the vehicle almost hit another vehicle head on. After the officer turned the patrol car around and got behind the vehicle to stop it, he saw it hit a curb, blowing out two tires and almost hitting two other vehicles before stopping. There was no one else in the vehicle and an almost empty bottle of alcohol in the car.

The third DUI occurred at 674 N. Riverside Drive Dec 16 around 3:25 a.m. The driver, Annette Sanders, swerved to miss something in the road, left the roadway and hit a tree, causing the vehicle to tip onto its side. The driver did not recall how the vehicle ended up on its side and was transported to the hospital for clearance, prior to being booked into the Montgomery County Jail.

The fourth DUI was a non-injury crash in which the driver, Kathy Mathis, driving a Nissan Altima rear ended another vehicle on Ft Campbell Blvd. with her Nissan Altima. She had slurred speech and performed poorly on the standardized field sobriety tests.
“Fortunately, none of the crashes were fatalities or resulted in serious bodily injuries,” CPD spokesman Jim Knoll said. “But as a reminder over the holiday season, police will be out in force and performing saturation patrols to take impaired drivers off the streets.”
