CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Clarksville Police Department (CPD) recently had an opportunity to recognize volunteers who are part of the Clergy Rapid Mobilization Team (CRMT).
CRMT members are volunteers comprised of ministers/and or leaders of different ethnic and faith groups from the community. These volunteers are ready to move in a moment’s notice to any event or emergency that arises. They work in conjunction with CPD’s Chaplain Program to reach out to the community through literature, visiting various areas, interacting with the community and organizing activities.
They are also prepared and trained to respond and assist the community during any natural disaster, community emergency, or a civil disturbance when requested.
“The CRMT is a great and unique resource to serve our community, supported by the Clarksville Police Dept,” CPD spokesman Jim Knoll said.
An appreciation dinner was held on June 15 to thank the CRMT volunteers who are willing to provide assistance in times of need and to build stronger bonds with the community.
