CLARKSVILLE Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Clarksville police are currently searching for two home invasion suspects as of 8:30 a.m. Thursday.
Police spokesman Jim Knoll said two suspects fled the scene of a home invasion in the 800 block of Biglen Rd. in a stolen BMW before ditching the vehicle near the Vulcan Plant rock quarry off Providence Blvd.
When the victim got home and got out of his car he was approached by two men outside his residence displaying handguns. He was hit in the head with a handgun and the suspects took the keys to his BMW.
The victim was able to get away from the men and ran behind a building while the suspects broke into his home. They were inside the house for a short period of time before fleeing the scene in the stolen BMW.
Police said there was also a newer model red or maroon Ford Fusion with a Knox County tag that may have been involved in the home invasion, which left the scene.
When the stolen BMW was located minutes later on Lafayette Road, it fled and officers lost sight of the vehicle.
It was spotted again before it turned into the Vulcan Plant rock quarry off Providence Blvd. The suspects then ditched the vehicle and fled on foot.
Police swarmed the area with officers and K-9s but were unable to find the suspects.
The victim had minor injuries and was not transported to the hospital.
The suspects are described as two black males, according to police. One suspect was wearing a black Adidas jacket and the other suspect has shoulder-length dreadlocks. No further description is available at this time.
Police said the men are considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees suspicious activity should call 911.
Police are also trying to locate the Ford Fusion.
