CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – O’Charley’s on Riverside Drive and the Clarksville Police Department came together Thursday for the annual Tip-A-Cop to benefit Special Olympics Tennessee.

More than $1,700 was raised at the event, which is part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics, the largest law enforcement focused charitable organization in the world. Around 20 officers from the Clarksville Police Department paired up with O’Charley’s servers to help take care of guests.

Both for lunch and dinner Thursday, all of the tips given to the police officers were collected and donated to Special Olympics Tennessee.

Law Enforcement Torch Director Jennifer McAfee said the event takes place all across the state. “They are waiting tables, serving food and drinks, and it’s pretty awesome to watch them,” McAfee said.
