CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Clarksville police are looking for a suspect who allegedly shot at an officer early Thursday morning.
According to a news release, the officer was patrolling the Lincoln Homes area and stopped outside an apartment to see if an individual known to have warrants on file would come outside.
“While observing the area, I noticed two black males out near 12-D Lincoln Homes, both were near two parked vehicles on the Eighth St. side of the building,” the officer reported. “My attention moved back to the apartment and vehicle that I was watching for the warrants. After sitting stationary with my windows down for roughly two minutes, I heard a gunshot followed by the distinct ‘whizz’ of a bullet going by. The gunshot came directly from the 12 building, but when I looked up and in that direction, both males that I had seen outside were gone.”
Anyone with information about this incident or any other suspicious activity is asked to call the Crime Stoppers TIPS Hotline at 931-645-TIPS (8477).
Officer Natalie Hall said police are always faced with dangerous and unpredictable situations.
“They never truly know the outcome of any situation into which they enter,” she said. “However, each CPD officer knows that in order to stop the dangerous criminals that victimize our Clarksville citizens, they have to put themselves in harm’s way every day they put on their uniforms.”
