CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Officers with the Clarksville Police Department (CPD) made sure a family whose home was burglarized didn’t miss out on Christmas.
Police responded to an aggravated burglary call at a home on Bob White Dr. on Christmas Eve. The family came home to find their door kicked in and all of the Christmas presents from under the tree had been stolen.
“The children were devastated,” CPD spokesman Jim Knoll said. “The officers worked the burglary and when they cleared it they decided that they weren’t going to allow these kids to have a miserable Christmas.”
The officers took up a collection and used the money to buy presents for the kids, which they wrapped and brought to the family’s home.
“The officers turned around a bad situation and made some children’s Christmas day bright,” Knoll said.
