CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Rumors involving a student who allegedly threatened to bring a gun to West Creek High School have been investigated by the Clarksville Police Department (CPD).

Officials were made aware of the rumors Thursday and began actively pursuing them, according to CPD spokesperson Officer Natalie Hall.

“Specific rumors were investigated and are unsubstantiated,” she said.

Additional law enforcement personnel have been stationed at the high school today as a precautionary measure.

“We (CPD) have an excellent working relationship with the school system,” Hall said.

Speculation about the threats spread throughout social media Friday, including posts on ClarksvilleNow.com’s Facebook page.
