CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – An officer with the Clarksville Police Department (CPD) was arrested Sunday for DUI.
An arrest warrant states that Jack Williams, 28, was traveling southbound on Riverside Dr. at a high rate of speed and failed to move over or slow down when an officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop.
When Williams finally pulled over, the officer noticed he had bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, smelled of alcohol, and was in possession of a gun. He was taken into custody after a series of sobriety tests.
Williams was charged with DUI, violation of implied consent law, and possession of a handgun while under the influence. His bond was set at $1,500.
Officer Natalie Hall, spokesperson for CPD, confirmed that Williams is an officer and was immediately put on administrative leave following his arrest.
