CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Mayor McMillan administered the oath of office to 16 new Clarksville Police Department (CPD) officers at the Liberty Park Freedom Point Facility this week.
The room was filled to capacity with family, friends, and well-wishers. The new officers will be trained in-house at the Police Department until they begin the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy on January 6, 2019 and graduate March 29, 2019.
“The Clarksville Police Department uses an extremely competitive hiring process. Each of the new officers should be congratulated and be proud of their achievement being chosen as Clarksville Police Department officers with the privilege of serving their community,” CPD spokesman Jim Knoll said.
This was one of the largest groups hired in recent memory, according to Knoll.
