CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Clarksville Police Department’s (CPD) K9 Vader just got a little bit safer thanks to a generous $1,000 donation from Clarksville Kennel Club and Tender Paws.
The money was used to purchase a protective vest for the four-legged K9 officer.
“K9 officers, along with their police service dogs, face danger together as a team and it is important that both are afforded the best protection possible as they head into harms way,” CPD spokesman Jim Knoll said.
The protective vest will add another level of protection for the police service dog. There are an estimated 30,000 law enforcement K9s throughout the United States.
“The Clarksville Police Department is very fortunate and appreciative of the great support we receive from the community we serve,” Knoll said.
