CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) The Keesee Barbershop hosted the Clarksville Police Department’s (CPD) third Chat and a Cut Saturday, August 4.

CPD uses these events to reach out to the community and meet citizens in a comfortable, non-threatening environment.

Chief Al Ansley and several other officers offered coffee and donuts to community members that met and talked with them during their hair cuts.

“The management of Keesee’s Barbershop and customers were welcoming and very open in their opinions,” CPD spokesman Jim Knoll said. “The conversations covered a wide variety of topics such as consolidation, recruitment of minorities, ways to improve relations and some of the perceptions in the community about law enforcement. The Chief and officers did not shy away from the tough questions and it was the type of interaction the Police Department has been striving to achieve.”

The department expressed gratitude to Keesee’s Barbershop for allowing officers to visit during a busy time.
