CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Clarksville Police Department held a swearing-in ceremony on Monday, Aug. 31, to welcome 13 new cadets.

Mayor Joe Pitts and Chief David Crockarell each spoke briefly to the cadets and a small gathering of their families before Pitts conducted the ceremony.

These cadets will now begin in-house training for three to five weeks before they attend the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy for 12 weeks, which is scheduled to begin on Sept. 27.
