CLARKSVILLE, Tenn (CLARKSVILLENOW) – According to the Clarksville Police Department, they have received a great deal of positive feedback in the implementation of Neighborhood Watch Programs in the community.

In order to continue building on the programs, the CPD Community Relations Unit will be hosting an informational meeting on how to start and maintain an effective neighborhood watch program.

Anyone who would like to volunteer as a coordinator, block captain, or participant or would just like to learn more about establishing a program in their community is invited to attend an informational meeting.

The meeting will be held at the Clarksville Police Department (135 Commerce Street) on November 4 from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Topics of discussion will include:

  • What is a neighborhood watch/crime watch program?
  • The history and benefits of a neighborhood watch.
  • How to organize a neighborhood watch.
  • How to maintain a neighborhood watch.
