CLARKSVILLE, TN – On Sept. 2, Chief Ty Burdine hosted a promotion and awards ceremony recognizing the achievements of several Clarksville Police Department officers.
Sgt. Vince Duke was promoted to the rank of lieutenant and is assigned to District 1. Officers Barbara Middleton, Jeffrey Novenario and Jeffrey Reynolds were each promoted to the rank of sergeant.
Six officers were promoted to Field Training Officer (FTO), a vital role responsible for guiding and developing new officers: Justin Vojta, Juan Mazuera, Andy Gonzalez, Joshua Billotte, Joseph Aragon and James Woodward.
Several officers also received the Lifesaver Award for their decisive actions that directly saved lives during critical incidents. Their dedication and professionalism reflect the highest standards of service to the Clarksville community.
The Lifesaver Award was presented to:
- Officer John Gonzalez (March 6)
- Officer Thomas Nichols (May 29)
- Officer Gabriel Howard (May 29)
- Sgt. Channing Bartel (June 12)
- Officer Joshua Godwin (June 15)
Additionally, Sgt. Channing Bartel was recognized as CPD’s Employee of the Quarter for the 4th Quarter 2025 (April-June), and Officer Jeffrey Novenario was recognized as CPD’s Employee of the Year (2024-25).
Chief Burdine praised the honorees, stating, “These promotions and awards reflect the hard work, leadership, and commitment our officers bring to this department every day. Whether guiding the next generation of officers or taking swift lifesaving actions in the field, their service makes Clarksville a safer and stronger community.”
