CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW)- On June 30, 2020, the Clarksville Police held a special ceremony for several officers and their families as they celebrated a day full of promotional ceremonies and the retirement of successor Chief Al Ansley.

The morning session began with the official promotion of David Crockarell  the 17th Chief of Police in the department’s history.

The morning session ended on a bittersweet note as the department said farewell to longtime Chief, Al Ansley, said Detective Michael Patterson in a news release.

“Ansley served the department and the citizens of Clarksville for 33 illustrious years; with the last 13 years serving as the Chief of Police.  After his retirement ceremony concluded, he stayed around as former and current officers stopped by the Wilma Rudolph Event Center to wish him well as he is about to enter the world of retirement, the release said.

“Thank you, “Chief” Ansley, for your unselfish service and enjoy your well-deserved retirement!”
