CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – After several positive tests for COVID-19 among departmental staff, the Clarksville Police Department has closed public access to lobbies at the department’s headquarters and precincts, according to a news release.

Effective Wednesday, Oct. 7, lobbies at Police Headquarters at 135 Commerce St.; District 1 Precinct at 211 Cunningham Lane; and District 3 Precinct at 1584 Vista Lane will be closed to the public until at least Oct. 26.

“The department will continue to provide full-service law enforcement for the citizens of Clarksville,” Police Chief David Crockarell said in the release. “But we will temporarily close our lobbies as a precaution to help protect the public and our work force.”

CPD encourages citizens to use these contact options:

  • For emergencies, dial 911.
  • For general information, dial 931-648-0656 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.
