CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Clarksville Police Department (CPD) and local firefighters gathered Feb. 25 to help make a special wish come true for a young boy with cancer.
Six-year-old Tyler Seddon of Rhode Island had only one request for his birthday: to receive cards from his favorite first responders. Detective Candace Rundle discovered Tyler’s story on PoliceOne.com News, and encouraged others to help make his day.
According to PoliceOne, Tyler has been diagnosed with leukemia for the second time and is currently undergoing another round of chemotherapy treatments while his doctors search for a bone marrow donor. Police and firefighters are his favorite heroes.
CPD will send Tyler a birthday package, including a photo of the officers and firefighters, a Chief’s Coin, a CPD patch, and other assorted police items.
Clarksville Fire Rescue will send a similar package.
“We all hope Tyler has the best birthday ever!” said Officer Natalie Hall.
Tyler’s seventh birthday is March 6. Cards can be sent to 96 South Main Street, Pascoag, R.I. 02859.
A GoFundMe account called ‘Tyler’s Troops’ has been created to collect donations for the family.
