CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Tennessee Highway Patrol, Kentucky State Police, Christian County Sheriff’s Office, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Hopkinsville Police Department, Clarksville Police Department, and several other law enforcement agencies conducted a DUI checkpoint/saturation patrol on US41-A near the state line May 18.
Troopers, deputies, and officers were looking for impaired drivers and issued charges for other violations. The results from the Tennessee side were:
Vehicles through Checkpoint: 516
Total Charges: 217 (65 of those were warnings)
DUI: 8 (3 were THP’s)
Revoked/Suspended Drivers: 11
Speeding: 44
Improper Turns: 1
Improper Passing: 3
Insurance Law: 20
Traffic Signals/Signs: 12
Light/Equipment Violations: 71
Other Driver License Law: 9
Unlawful Drug Paraphernalia: 1

Registration: 11
Following Too Closely: 1
Other Charges: 6 (Criminal Trespass, Evading, Marijuana Possession for Resale, Texting, Possession of Weapon While Intoxicated, Public Intoxication)
