CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Manifest Magic: Black Girl Cooperative, a local social service group, has come together to provide a co-op virtual learning option at a low cost.
Kristin Davis, the volunteer program director, assists families with orientation, organizing health records, and coordinating between teachers and students.
“We monitor students to make sure they stay on task, provide an instructor to offer technical assistance, and answer student’s questions,” Davis said.
Davis said that this program gives parents an opportunity for their children to receive a safe education without having to miss work or leave their children home alone.
Instructors Allison Garth and Tyelisa Rubio ensure students get into their online classes on time and they also provide tech support for the students. Garth and Rubio also teach additional subjects such as black history, yoga, health and wellness, goal setting, money management, creative writing, art and music.
The school is open to grades K-12, and they operate Monday through Fridays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. in a socially distanced class space.
Families are charged $75 per week with no limit on the number of children per family.
“Our goal is to make it affordable and accessible while providing the ability to safely socialize,” said Garth.
The school is located inside Full Effect Visual and Performing Arts Center at 1191-A Fort Campbell Blvd. For more information on how to register, contact Kristin Davis at coo@manifestmagicbgc.org or call (931) 614-0075.
