CLARKSVILLE, Tenn (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Clarksville Panthers, a local 3v3 soccer team, recently represented Clarksville in Memphis at a national championship tournament.
After winning the regional championships held in Clarksville, the Panthers (eight years old at the time) traveled to Memphis where they competed against 145 other teams from their age group from around the country. The team went undefeated in all 6 of their games to win the 2011 Silver Division Championship. Coaches for the team include Stephanie Eggers and travel team Kelly Guth.
The Panthers were recognized by Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts at a City Council meeting held in December.
“[The Panthers] have all worked extremely hard playing 6 weeks through the summer between club practice, 3v3 practice, and games between both organizations,” said Coach Kelley Guth. “These girls are relentless, determined, fearless and very gracious for all the opportunities they have been able to accomplish this year.”
The Clarksville Panthers include the following members:
Camille Rydlewski
Riley Curry
Amiyah Davis
Aubrey Grempler
Melanie Combs
Kaitlyn Kerby
All six girls on the team also play with Clarksville Soccer Club.
