FRANKLIN, Tenn. (ESPN CLARKSVILLE) – Hot Days and long nights: That’s exactly what the 10U Clarksville Orioles endured over this past weekend.

But the heat and exhaustion couldn’t stop this Clarksville based youth baseball team from winning the 2016 USSSA 10U AAA State Championship at EWA Trinity Park in Franklin, TN.

In four games, the Orioles racked up 64 runs that included 63 hits and six home runs. Head coach Chris Proctor was extremely proud of the boys after the tournament.

“The team just pulled together under extreme conditions and played their hearts out. They knew what was at stake and played lights out,” he said.

The team is also coached by Philip Hagewood and Brian Shirk, and is currently ranked #1 in the state of Tennessee in their age group. The 10U Clarksville Orioles will be in action June 25 in the BPA State Tournament, and will later on travel to Gulf Shores to compete in the World Series.
