CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The Clarksville Police Department says an officer helped rescue a man from drowning Monday morning in a massive hole.
The hole was created after a truck struck a fire hydrant that flooded several homes on Pembroke Road.
Resident Richard Garrett Sr. fell into the hole and couldn’t get out with the pressure of the water holding him down.
The police department says Officer Thomas McGraw helped without hesitation. With the aid of nearby neighbors, they were able to pull Garrett out of the hole and save him from possibly drowning.
