CLARKSVILLE, TN – The Clarksville Branch National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) #5582 is hosting a toy give-away that continues Friday and Saturday at St. John Baptist Church. The event will take place at the St John Missionary Baptist Church located at 1833 Tiny Town Road, Clarksville, Tn 37042 from 11 am to 5 pm each day.
The branch has brand new toys, selected baby items, items for moms and dads. The event was planned to assist the disparaged residents displaced by the tornado. This community support will be an attempt to bring normalcy over the Christmas holiday season. The NAACP has a historical past of taking the leadership role for providing for our citizens in times of distress. We are determined to be a community-oriented vessel for the people.
Asking residents, not affected by the tornado, who can afford the expense, to assist us by bringing a toy to be distributed to our community families. We chose to address a need for our children to relieve as much as possible for the parents and guardians during these stressful times.
