CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Clarksville Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) launched its 2015 Membership Campaign on April 15, and will continue through the month of May.

The purpose of the campaign is to increase the role of the membership and to recruit members to help the group fulfill the mission of the NAACP. The mission of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of ALL persons and to eliminate race-based discrimination.

The group is inviting all members of the community to join. Members of the local branch will canvass the community for new members in the coming weeks.
