PITTSBURGH, Pennslyvania. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Clarksville native and muscle car enthusiast Patrick Nichols, who works as a freelance writer for HotRod automotive magazine, recently discovered a rare, low-mileage LS6 Chevelle in Pittsburgh, PA.

Nichols is a barn find car hunter who travels the country in search of rare muscle cars that can be restored to their former glory. He documents his experiences for HotRod and has been featured on the cover multiple times.

He heard rumors about the Chevelle’s existence and made the trip to Pittsburgh where he found it stored in a block building, according to HotRod.

“I heard about the car and its approximate whereabouts through my network of muscle car friends. I took a gamble and immediately loaded the trailer and headed to Washington, PA without even a price, a photo, or even an address,” Nichols said.

“Once in PA I was able to make contact with the owner of the car and arrange to see the car in person. After viewing the car I realized it was a true time capsule and one of the best remaining original examples in existence. I ended up staying in the Washington, PA area for 7 days before a deal was reached. The gamble turned out to pay off tremendously and the trip was a major success.”

The car’s appraisal value is anywhere from $300,000 to $500,000.

Nichols told HotRod he intends to document and preserve the car as it is. You can read more about the car’s history on HotRod’s website.
