CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Clarksville-Montgomery County School System announced Wednesday afternoon that Thursday, Feb. 11, will be an asynchronous remote learning day for all students due to the Ice Storm Warning issued by the National Weather Service.
Asynchronous means there will not be live instruction. Instead, students in kindergarten through 8th grade should complete lessons on their laptops as assigned by their teachers for Inclement Weather Day Number One, according an update sent out to CMCSS families. If internet access becomes unavailable, CMCSS added that there are copies of the assignments directly on the students’ laptops.
For high school students, teachers will be sending out instructions on how to access lessons. All questions should be directed to the students’ teachers.
In an interview with Clarksville Now in July, Schools Director Millard House said snow days are a thing of the past, now that students can do remote learning in the event that school buildings are closed.
With that understanding, for the 2020-21 school year, CMCSS used its inclement weather stockpile days at the beginning of the year to allow for a delayed start.
