Update, 11:33 a.m.: CMCSS has now announced that all schools and district offices will be closed on Thursday, Feb. 20, as well.
In an additional email sent to parents, CMCSS said the frigid temperatures through Friday will make the task of clearing roads and campuses more difficult for crews. “So please give them patience and appreciation. We will continue monitoring the conditions and update families tomorrow about Friday,” said CMCSS.
They also ask families to limit travel unless absolutely necessary until conditions improve.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Clarksville-Montgomery County School System has announced all CMCSS schools and district offices will be closed tomorrow, Feb. 19, with the Winter Storm Warning set to begin at 9 p.m. tonight. CMCSS also canceled all after-school activities, athletics and practices that were set for tomorrow.
“The Operations Department and CMCSS leadership will continue to monitor the conditions,” CMCSS said a news release sent to parents. “With the predicted temperatures, it will make clearing roads and campuses more difficult.” The release then said the school system will notify families if there will be closures for Thursday, Feb. 20.
The National Weather Service’s most recent report said heavy snow is still expected, with total snow accumulations between 2 and 4 inches with locally up to 6 inches in the northwest counties of Middle Tennessee. The low for tonight is 18 degrees, while the high for Wednesday is 26.
